Also the latest from Jimmy Chamberlin's Journal:
Greetings from The Complex. I just wanted to give you a quick update as to what's going on in our plane of existence. I am still reeling a bit from the election. It really pains me to see this great country so divided. Is it possible that we are really so different from one another? Is Wal-mart that far away from the library? It really seems like two completely different countries. Are the republicans really that frightened of terrorism? Do they hide in their mansions watching Fox all day? Are the Democrats really that wishy-washy? Where is their backbone? Where are the great ideas? Are war and lies all we can seem to muster up? Do politicians read history books? Don't they see the cycle? Remember, “divided, we fall "! Humanity seems doomed to endure this historical recidivism. When will we learn that only love and compassion will make the world a better place. That hating and destroying is no way to spend a lifetime.

Courtney Love Tries to Salvage Career: Reenlists Billy Corgan

Courtney Love Tries to Salvage Career: Reenlists Billy Corgan, Channels Johnny Cash and Elliott Smith
The year of the monkey has been no good for Courtney Love. In 2004 Love has been in and out of rehab, court and her mind; lost and regained custody of Frances Bean; and released an abysmal solo effort, America's Sweetheart. But we haven't heard the last from her yet, as her resolution for 2005 is to reinvigorate her career. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Love lays out plans to record an album with some of rock's heaviest hitters. She wants to use the producer who makes everyone's greatest album, Rick Rubin as well as half of Jane's Addiction -- Dave Navarro and Stephen Perkins. Give her some credit for recognizing her limitations, as she is reenlisting Billy Corgan to write the songs for the new album. Love says she wants her songs to be narrative like Elliott Smith's and also mentions wanting to record in a prison. Hmm, Johnny Cash? Maybe she should try being herself? Oh yeah, nevermind.

Happy Holidays!!!
How are you, my dear friends...as I write this, it is freezing outside here in Chicago, and I don't have any of my Christmas shopping done (this reminds me of every Christmas!)...i hope that wherever you are, you are with loved ones, and are warm, happy, and motivated for the coming year...there are so many challenges afoot right now (culturally, spiritually, energetically, and most of all keeping one's integrity intact) that it is hard to remember what a great gift that life is, with a tremendous set of opportunities at hand every single day...at hand, at foot, at mind (pantanjali, I believe/ancient avatar)...i know I have said many times the album is done, the album is almost done, blah blah but since all that I have gone back into the studio and recorded a few more songs, which I think make the album stronger and more cohesive and yes, push a little harder, so I think we are on schedule for a spring release...don't forget that famed smashing pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin's first album is coming out mid-January, so start looking for it, or check Jimmy's website at Jimmychamberlin.com for more info...Jimmy is also doing a few shows in los angeles, new york, and chicago, so try to check that out...he has put together a killer band that I think is going to be a must see live act...
Besides all that, life is good, I have no complaints, only praise...praise for all the good friends who have guided me compassionately thru this year, holding my hand when it needed to be held and kicking my fragile psyche when it needed a good, swift kick...i feel that this year has very much been about moving out of old patterns and habits into new potentials that in my eyes will yield a deeper level of work and a more involved, passionate life...that is a crude way of saying I feel strong and motivated and I'm ready to get back into the mix...the only caveat being that I am not playing by anyone else's rules but my own...you can have your behind the scenes and your stripping away the last ounces of blood all you want, I a'int having that no more...i am proud to say I am independent, and getting more so everyday...and I really, really appreciate the good business relationships I do have, with those few people out there who really care about music...they know who they are, and I'm sure they don't read this website! So again, dear friends, I send you love, and the blessings of 1,000 angels...
Yours, bc
