Coming This Fall on Virgin Records The Smashing Pumpkins 'Greatest Hits'

Special Limited Edition 2 CD Package To Be Available for Short Time

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- In the Fall of 2001, Virgin Records will release the long awaited Smashing Pumpkins ``Greatest Hits'' album. The tracks for the compilation are currently being selected by the band. To coincide with this release, Virgin will also release a two-CD package (limited edition) that will include the ``Greatest Hits'' disc as well as ``Judas O Riley.'' ``Judas O Riley'' is the follow-up to ``Pisces Iscariot,'' the 1994 b-sides release by the Pumpkins, and will include b-sides and rarities culled from the band's sessions, which produced ``Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness,'' ``Adore,'' and ``MACHINA/the machines of God.''

The artwork for the ``Greatest Hits'' compilation will contain never before seen photos of the band. A special DVD will be released to coincide with the ``Greatest Hits'' compilation. The DVD will include the Pumpkins video collection and a documentary on the making of the Smashing Pumpkins' videos.

In other Pumpkins news Billy collaborated with New Order on one track on the band's forthcoming album ``Get Ready.'' He also played guitar for New Order as they performed on four dates on Moby's Area: One Music Festival on the West Coast and Vancouver, BC. Corgan has also produced three tracks for Marianne Faithful's upcoming album. Corgan is currently rehearsing and recording with his new band.

James Iha is currently working on music for film and television, producing other artists, working on solo material and has opened Stratosphere Sound, a commercial recording studio in New York City with co-owners Adam Schlesinger and Andy Chase.
