After the band has finished its current studio run, they will take some time to rehearse prior to the beginning of the August tour
SP.com can confirm that the band will be conducting their next week of pre-tour rehearsals in Davenport, IA prior to the show on August 8th.
We can also confirm that the concert August 8 at the Adler Theatre in Davenport, IA will indeed be the kick-off show of the August tour.

From the Smashing Pumpkins official website comes this information:
The Smashing Pumpkins are back in the studio recording a new single (reported earlier) that will be available this September.
The new single will be titled G.L.O.W. and is the first studio effort from the band since the American Gothic sessions.
There has been no word on the style or arrangement of the song at this time.

the Smashing Pumpkin official website released a few new details on the upcoming Fillmore Documentary DVD.
A slow trickle of details regarding the upcoming DVD documentary has arrived at SP.com:
- The documentary will be a multi-disc DVD release
- Most, if not all, of the footage will be HD quality
- The tentative release date for the DVD will be November of 2008

The Smashing Pumpkins official site has reported what front man Billy Corgan had told fans after RockWalk, that a Fillmore DVD was to be in the works. No release date was announced, just a message informing that the DVD should be out before the end of the year

Pumpkins reveal details for upcoming tours, announce plans to play New York, Los Angeles and Chicago for 20th anniversary tour in November
Smashingpumpkins.com has some details regarding the upcoming touring plans for the band.
As stated previously, the band will be heading out into the United States for the first time in 2008 during August. This tour will be for fun and will consist of unique sets and songs. Expect this tour to visit mostly smaller-sized venues.
Whereas the August dates will be at smaller venues, the November 20th Anniversary shows will be at large venues. We can confirm the band will be playing in New York, Chicago, L.A. as well as additional cities that have yet to be announced. These shows will focus on the band’s history, legacy, and accomplishments over their career.
The Gish era tour will be moved to early 2009 to make way for the 20th Anniversary shows this November. Discussions are still taking place regarding which cities will be played.
Billy Corgan had this to say about the current tour line-up for 2008:
“The August tour is going to be a blast… Expect a very loud and raucous show from us…and we are very, very happy to know we will finally be playing our own shows come November in New York, L.A., and Chicago… The 20th Anniversary shows will be magical… We are already working on lots of surprises”
